SAM CHISHOLM BURSARY FUND – LAUNCH
20 May 2009
Following Sam's funeral, CPYT received a sum of money resulting from individual donations which the Organising Team decided should be put to something positive, rather than be lost in general funds.
During Sam's CPYT time, he'd taken part in stage combat workshops – in which he showed great interest and capability – he was making positive enquiries concerning undertaking formal training at university, but events decreed he wouldn't be able to follow up his interest.
To enhance CPYT's commitment to performance education, in Sam's memory, it has been decided to launch the ‘Sam Chisholm Bursary Fund', to assist those seeking formal further education in the performing arts – in any discipline – be it on stage or back stage, by providing assistance – for example - with the cost of ‘reading lists' which can be quite expensive
The detail has to be finalised concerning application to the fund, as has the ‘adjudicating panel', but it is expected in any event that formal application will be required to show the applicant's commitment.
CPYT has allocated a further £1000 to the fund and it is intended to add to the fund each year.
